1. Wadil Welcome Group Luncheon Club

Services for the elderly at the Centre run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm. Activities include trips to temples and places of interest, advice on healthy living, medical problems, benefits, pensions, etc. Lunch is provided at the Centre and Meals On Wheels service for those who are immobile.

2. Gujarati Classes

The Gujarati language classes run from The Indian Community Centre, 103 Union Road, Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL6 8JN. Classes are held weekly on Tuesday from 6.25 pm to 8.30 pm. GCSE examination in Gujarati is taken at our Centre, which is registered as an examination Centre. Read More Here.

3. Temple Services

Our pujari Shree Pradipbhai Upadhyay together with volunteers looks after the temple operations. Hindu festivals and other religious functions are held in the temple. The temple is open to the public daily from 7.30 am to 8.30 am, 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm and 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Bhajan-Satsang are held every Saturday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm.

4. Yoga Classes

Yoga classes both for gents and ladies and take place every Thursday evening from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. in the main hall.

5. Keep fit classes for elderly

Keep fit classes for the elderly are held every Thursday morning from 10.30 am to 11.30 pm. Activities include light exercise followed by yoga.

6. Computer Classes

Computer classes are held on Monday evening from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm in our computer suite. Classes are for beginners and run by college teachers assisted by our volunteers.

7. Tameside Council Advisory Service

Officials from Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council come to our Centre on Fridays from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm. The service includes information and advice on Council services, including housing benefits and assistance with any issues raised by the community members.

8. Youth activities

Youths meet every Wednesday evening from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm and take part in sports activities, which include table tennis and badminton.

9. Marriage Registration

The Centre is registered for the solemnisation of marriage. We have our own Marriage Registrar and two assistants who would perform the registration ceremony and issue the marriage Certificate.

10. Hall Hiring Facilities

The Centre is available for hire for weddings, parties, meetings and many other functions. A schedule of hall hiring charges is available from the Secretary.  Temple area is not available for hire.
